I had lunch with my grandmother's sister today, along with my aunt. My grandmother's sister paid for the meal, and insisted that she buy me either a new jacket, a new watch or a new phone, in addition to the heap of money that she'd already given me. I rejected the jacket, watch and phone. I'm really bad at accepting gifts, especially when an occasion doesn't accompany it.

We finished lunch and window shopping at around 4pm and I had a couple of hours to kill before I had to meet up with my Viking Age class at a museum. I spend about an hour strolling along a walking/bike path by the river in the city. The view was beautiful. Sitting down and listening to the soothing sounds of Kina Grannis. Just staring into the landscape with the sun about to set, the world passing by me. Couples hand in hand, laughing groups of friends, mothers strolling their babies while making funny noises and faces at them. Taking time to appreciate what you have and how beautiful life is. An hour, solely feeling completely at peace. It was enough to make this day a good one.

Ps. I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend.
