Lately, my life has been filled with solely watching TV series - mainly How I Met Your Mother. And I haven't been blogging because I haven't been doing much, thus leading to uninspiring blogging thoughts. However, I did go out for the first time in a while to an island that goes by the name of Lidingö yesterday with a cousin of mine. If I could use two words to describe this island, they'd be: green, and water. There were beautiful green fields, and hills, with distant forests. Also, coastlines of docks where you can just overlook the water and mini islands, watching boats float on by, big and small. I'm glad I had her to take me because once we got there, I knew I wouldn't have been able to find my way around. Those bus routes were confusing and ran at weird times. But anyway, we mainly stayed in an area called Elfvik where we sat at the end of a dock and chatted about life. The weather was cloudy, but warm, with the perfect amount of wind. Sitting there reminded me a lot of the Manitoulin Island get-aways with the family.
After a couple of hours, we headed back to the city to have frozen yogurt and do a bit of shopping. Oh shopping.. I planned to never commit your money-seducing crimes, but I've failed time and time again. Before I arrived in Sweden, I was told that if I pack a lot of something, they should be pants because buying them in Stockholm would be really expensive. I initially took this piece of advice. But to this day, I've only worn half of the amount of pants I brought, and now have three new pairs of pants. I left Canada thinking I packed light too.
On another note, I've only two more weeks until I leave for France. I only hope that that experience can give me what this Stockholm experience hasn't.
Ps. Nostalgia-Ultra.. Ultra Nostalgia indeed.
