Just My Luck

This morning on my way to school, there was a problem with the tunnelbana (Stockholm metro), specifically on the line that I needed to get on for school. All the announcements were in Swedish so I asked a very nice lady to translate for me. Turns out there was a problem at the station before the Central station so no trains were working at the moment. Of course I was late, and of course I had a presentation to do, and of course my phone ran out of money just when I needed it the most so I could text my teacher. But with all the bad luck I've experienced here, it's now just become comical. Anyway, I had to take a shuttle bus to a station that could take me to school. Turns out the nice lady was going to my university as well so thank goodness I had her with me. On the shuttle bus, an old lady asked me a question in Swedish and I assumed she asked me where the bus was going, so I responded with a blank look, "Stadion" (name of the station is was going to). In my head I was praying that she really did ask me where the bus was going so I didn't have to sound like an idiot. Turns out I was right, phew!

Transportation issues like these rarely happen in Stockholm - quite the opposite situation from the TTC in Toronto, or the Brampton Transit. The transit systems of Europe will definitely be one of the things I'll miss most when I return to Canada.

Ps. Whoa, two blog entries in one day? Well, I guess not since it's now past midnight.
